EMG was selected as a key project management and software provider as Walgreens sought to promote its “Well Experience” by transforming the pharmacies and the customers’ shopping experience. In 2012, Walgreens launched an initiative to transform the shopping experience in their signature stores nationwide. The program involved complete renovation and reconstruction of interior and exterior of the building, and a focus on the “Well Experience.” Walgreens had never outsourced Project Management before.
After considering several options and viewing demonstrations of each, Walgreens chose ProTrack for program-wide (not just EMG’s projects) reporting over each site’s 12-week duration of renovation. The stores were required to remain open 24 hours a day. We put an embedded Project Manager in their offices for centralized program support, and provided field support, showing depth of expertise. Projects were finished on time and within budget. Data on a 700-line schedule was managed and reported in real time. EMG was selected to have an expanded role in the years since then, as the program grows and evolves.
