Through a competitive bidding process, EMG was selected to provide professional ADA consulting services to audit campus-wide facilities for accessibility to comply with Title II requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
EMG was responsible for:
- Identifying physical and operational barriers through a self-evaluation process.
- Performing a comprehensive compliance review of all educational facilities, in accordance with the 2010 ADA Accessibility Guidelines.
- Providing a web-enabled database (EMG’s AssetCALC™) to serve as a “living” transition plan to be used to prioritize, categorize, and sort observed physical barriers. The database is the primary deliverable. Reports of EMG’s draft findings were exported from AssetCALC™ and then categorized and prioritized by each building for the district’s review. The district will be able to use this database to administer their ADA Transition Plan and track work completed against the ADA Transition Plan over time.
- Developing an ADA Transition Plan in accordance with the 2010 Guidelines of the Americans with Disabilities Act. This enables the district to ensure compliance with ADA Title I and II (State and Local Government Services), State of Georgia, and federal regulations.
