ADA Transition Plan

joann joann1

Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores reacted to customer input and began an initiative to ensure ADA compliance for the entire portfolio of sites. EMG was selected for this nationwide project due to our knowledge and experience in ADA compliance, our ability to seamlessly report using ProTrack, and our national coverage. Our initial scope included surveys, scoping, estimating, design, and project management. Since beginning work with Jo-Ann Stores, the scope expanded to additional surveys and verification of compliance of new stores.

EMG managed multiple projects, providing multiple phases of services nationwide: Phase One, Survey Development; Phase Two, Scope Development; and Phase Three, ADA Improvements. ADA compliance projects were completed on time, allowing stores to ensure compliance as part of their modernization efforts. EMG reported results to the Department of Justice, working with the government agency to document the ADA enhancements and compliance, which mitigated risk and legal exposure. In addition, the project experienced no outages or downtime to the public during business hours.
