Engagement

Manhattan Beach Unified School District located in Southern California has seven (7) schools serving more than 6900 students in grades K-12, and a preschool.

As part of the development of the Facilities Master Plan, EMG assisted the DLR Group in this planning project by performing the Facility Condition Assessment and Energy Audits for these campuses and the district administration buildings.

EMG conducted an in-depth assessment of the facility infrastructure including electrical, plumbing, heating, ventilation and air conditioning, fire and life safety, roofing, energy management, technology infrastructure, athletic fields and facilities, and landscape of the school sites.  Part of the assessment included providing detailed, realistic project level cost estimations for repair and replacement recommendations. The deliverable included hardcopy reports with narrative and photos; and a cloud-based asset management database with capital planning tools.

EMG also assessed the school for energy efficiency conservation measures and Prop 39 funding opportunities by conducting an ASHRAE Level II Energy Audit for the campus.
