The State of New Mexico’s Facilities Management Division (FMD) owns and regulates the use or occupancy of approximately 700 real property assets with approximately 7,000,000 gross square feet throughout the state of New Mexico, some of which are deteriorating and have building systems nearing the end of their useful life.

EMG was engaged by the FMD to provide Facility Condition Assessments and Inventory throughout the state. The Facility Condition Assessments will assist the FMD in gaining a thorough understanding of existing property conditions in order to determine need, extent, probable cost, and priority of future improvement projects.

Facilities assessed include multi-story office buildings, medical facilities, correctional compounds, academic and administrative structures, and support facilities. Properties range in age from 2 to more than 100 years old.

EMG architects and engineers collected the data of each facility utilizing 4tell Solutions software platform, iPlan. Upon completion of field inspections, the assessment/inventory data was uploaded from iPlan into FMD’s Facility Management System, AssetWorks AiM.
